Sorry I have been away for so long. Hasn’t been for a lack of content but rather for a lack of time. I spoke with several of my “fans” over the past week who are bugging me for an update and I know I owe you one.

Warning: This guest post is a little different from my normal fare being that it is devoid of the sarcasm, mockery and withering self-hatred we all know and love. My reason for this is that I truly think this is an amazing story. I’m sure you will enjoy it, however.

Lest you think me a one-trick pony, I have lent my extensive blogging skeelz to the DIFF blog. Unsolicited, I might add.
The DIFF blog, found at www.WhatsTheDIFF.com, is a favorite of mine and I highly recommend it. The folks there uncover some really cool and obscure stuff as part of their mission to “expose the gap between average and excellent.” In other words, the good in this world get props and the dickheads get the gas face.
Yes. I just referenced 3rd Bass…20 years after it would have been relevant.
I was struck by the professionalism and humility of Rick Astley, who allowed himself to be mocked during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, Rickrolling some 10 million viewers. Props to Lady Jane Scarlett once again for sharing this momentous event with me.

As per my daily routine, I began my morning by logging into my much heralded provider of eTherapy, better known to you and yours as “Off the Pole,” because I am a “hit whore” and want to see how many views I got the previous day…and believe you me, it’s in the dozens.

The other stat I always check is what search terms most lead viewers to my blog. I am pleased to announce that the top key word erroneously leading people to Off the Pole, yet forever embracing them in a new period of enlightenment, was “Tampax.”
Yes, you read that right. “Tampax,” that bulletproof vest against Mother Nature’s monthly siege, has dethroned stalwart top search term since Day 1, “Apple Bottom Jeans.”
Although my feelings are mixed, I shall follow the lead of our President-elect, Barack Obama, and willingly accept this change, for it indeed is change we can all believe in.
Yes, we can.
(Applause may resume now, preferably with one person slowly clapping, followed steadily by more and more people as their revelry builds into a powerful crescendo.)
